The Visionary DVD club is at the forefront of the use of DVD to bring spirituality to our mailboxes. The three products we have watched included some superb interviews. Volume 1 included a great piece by the well respected scientist Rupert Sheldrake on the "Extended Mind" exploring how consciousness can work at a distance. The second interview, with Elizabet Sahtouris, PhD, continued the scientific theme considering the significance of ecology in terms of the current planetary crisis and the need for a new set of ethics which includes respecting the earth. The final presentation was something different; it explored how we deal with spirituality and sexuality, with Richard Moss, MD, a well respected spiritual teacher who explores the conflicts we experience between mind and body. Program 31 began with an interview with Matthew Fox, PhD the rather controversial modern Christian teacher and mystic. He offers an exploration of the significance of earth mysticism and deep ecology within a new view of spirituality. This is followed by a fascinating presentation by Angela Browne-Miller who has developed a workshop called "Face to Face" which offers an inter-­dimensional way to face the death process. Browne-Miller uses a combination of ancient and modern techniques to get us to understand such issues as fear of death and the death process and hence move into a deeper way of living. The third talk is a challenging and provocative one by David Ray Griffin] it discusses the nature of 9/11 and the complicity of the American government with the disaster. He also discusses the spiritual significance of this event and what it means to all of us. Program 32 begins with fascinating exploration of consciousness with Cleve Backster. Since 1966, he has been exploring "primary perception". It all began with a groundbreaking series of experiments with plants, where he was able to show their responses to the environment on a polygraph and moreover was able to show their responses to his emotions! In the second interview we get to meet Jeri Mills MD,DVM who is the well-respected author of "Tapestry of Healing: Where Reiki and Medicine Intertwine”. She offers a fascinating discussion of what has now become known as Energy medicine and discusses the interface between alternative and mainstream medicine. She shows clearly how rather than being competitors they can be use together towards "best practice" medicine for the client. In the final interview, we meet James DeMeo PhD, who is the founder of the Orgone Biophysical Research Lab. He is a highly respected expert in the system of Orgonomy discovered by Dr. Wilhelm Reich and has written such volumes as Saharasia, a monumental volume exploring the origins of violence within suppressed sexuality. He discusses the Orgone Accumulator of Dr.Wilhelm Reich, a special medical device that Reich believed accumulates orgone energy which can then be used for healing. Each of these DVDs (and all future issues) include three interviews of considerable length; each one averaged over 3 hours of content !! This is great value at only $20 a month.
