Parallel Worlds
Michio Kaku, PhD

There is a contradiction between Buddhist cosmology, in which Nirvana is timeless and has no beginning or end, and the Judeo-Christian idea of Genesis. Either the universe had a beginning, or it didn't. But recent developments in physics have given us a beautiful melding of the two. Many physicists today believe in the multiverse, i.e.Genesis is constantly taking place in a timeless ocean of Nirvana, creating Big Bangs even as you read this sentence. Physicists are also spending millions of dollars trying to prove the existence of these parallel worlds, some of them perhaps in your living room, hovering inches above our universe.

What might these universes look like? Can "clones" of us exist in these parallel worlds? Can we travel to these worlds? Dr. Michio Kaku, internationally recognized theoretical physicst and author of Parallel Worlds and Hyperspace, gives a spellbinding lecture for the beginner about these revolutionary developments.

The goal of the presentation is to familiarize the audience with the concept of higher dimensions, the multiverse, and experiments to confirm the multiverse theory. You will learn about:

  • the fundamentals of cosmology
  • the Big Freeze and the death of the universe, and how we may eventually escape the universe
  • Einstein's dream of a theory which can allow us to "read the mind of God."

Presenter Bio: Michio Kaku is an internationally recognized authority in theoretical physics and the environment. His latest book, Parallel Worlds, presents the theoretical and experimental evidence from the world of cosmology and physics concerning the "multiverse," that perhaps a parallel universe hovers just a few inches above our universe.

Kaku’s goal is to help complete Einstein's dream of a "theory of everything," a single equation, perhaps no more than one inch long, which will unify all the fundamental forces in the universe. His PhD level textbooks are required reading at many of the top physics laboratories. He has written 9 books; his last two books, Hyperspace and Visions, became international best-sellers. He has published dozens of articles in physics journals about superstring theory, supergravity, supersymmetry, and hadronic physics. He is the cofounder of string field theory.

Sex, Time and Power:
How Women's Sexuality Shaped Human
Leonard Shlain, MD

Why did humans, especially the female, diverge so far from the reproductive life cycles of the other three million sexually reproducing species? Life threatening childbirth, florid menses, early menopause, cryptic ovulation, year round sexual receptivity, fulsome orgasms, menstrual harmony among women, and entrainment with the moon are all reproductive features that distinguish women from nonhuman females. Dr. Shlain will place these features (and many more) within the context of evolutionary theory and explain why they were an incontestable plus propelling the human species far ahead of the others. You will learn how human mating evolved, understand the function of menses in humans, the roots of patriarchy, and the source of misogyny.

Presenter Bio: Leonard is Chairman of Laparoscopic surgery at California Pacific Medical Center and Professor of Surgery at UCSF. He is also the author of two critically acclaimed books. Art and Physics: Parallel Visions in Space, Time and Light is presently used as a textbook in many art schools and universities. His recent work, Alphabet versus the Goddess: The Conflict Between Word and Image was on the national bestseller list.

Leonard has won several literary awards for his visionary work and holds several patents on innovative surgical devices. Sex, Time and Power: How Women’s Sexuality Shaped Human Evolution explores the reasons why Homo sapiens evolved so far away from other animals in several key attributes.
